The Bedrock Experience Book Tower augmented reality application offers a comprehensive virtual tour of one of Detroit's most historic landmarks. This innovative app allows users to delve into the story of Book Tower, tracing its history from inception through restoration efforts, while providing an in-depth exploration of The Rotunda—its architectural centerpiece—and showcasing a carefully curated collection of artwork.

Originally commissioned by the Book brothers and designed by architect Louis Kamper, Book Tower was conceived to elevate Washington Boulevard into a prestigious and fashionable district within Detroit. Upon its completion in 1926, the 38-story structure was the tallest building in the city, featuring Roman-inspired architectural details and opulent interiors that accommodated retail spaces and offices. Today, it remains a prominent fixture on Detroit’s skyline, distinguished by its copper roof and commanding presence, inviting visitors to experience it anew for living, working, dining, celebrating, and staying.

This application was developed collaboratively with partners including Unity Technologies, the Detroit Historical Society, Kraemer Design Group, and ODA Architecture, reflecting a shared dedication to preserving and presenting Detroit's architectural legacy through innovative technology.
